Big Feelings
Hope Together
It’s a lot. Last week I had a lot of big feelings. Good, optimistic feelings. And overwhelmed, despairing, crash-and-burn feelings. By Wednesday I had hit the fan and was splattering all over the walls. Because it is a lot. We are making a non-profit and creating community. And... we are making a coworking business. And... we are creating a space that can handle that. And... we are creating all kinds of inner structures; lists of people, document and project structures, new software and hardware - all of which are just as important as chairs and tables, and quite a bit harder to get organized. And… we are building an inner community, a group of 5 employees and 6 board members, who are just beginning the journey of co-creation of this new thing. And... in the background, Covid.
Here’s the good news; when I hit the proverbial fan, the team picked up the pieces with grace and understanding. There was a team! So for the first time ever, an event went on completely without me, with the team creating a wonderful S’Mores event with fires and chatting and cider and connection. I loved getting texts and updates from friends and neighbors telling me how much fun it was. Good for us! Good for the community. Good to help each other through big feelings. A lot of big feelings right now. Stay focused on the people in your world, give them support, and take support as much as you possibly can.
