Sidewalk Gratitude

Neighbors. Neighbors taking care of each other and our community. In this time of so much uncertainty, I am so grateful for the energy and commitment of our Pleasant Ridge Community Council, who organized a Toy Drive on December 6th. They made the commitment to stand at the sidewalk for their community, and so much more than toy collection happened. By having the drop-off at Community Happens Here, we introduced many people to our space, and met many new neighbors. We gave out hot chocolate and good cheer. Grateful for a warm(ish) day, we could safely interact with each other. Terri Gossard quickly learned the basics of explaining Community Happens Here, while we busily gave tours and enjoyed some getting-to-know-our-neighbors time. Chris Norris lent his cheerful presence and photo expertise. Brandon White strangely disappeared when Santa showed up….but then again, Santa disappeared when Brandon came back to load all the toys in his van. Hmmm, something strange going on there… We must investigate. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to bring good cheer to the world in one form or another.
