Welcome De’Voe Sherman to the Board of Community Happens Here as the new Co-Chair of our Business Development Committee! We are so grateful to have De’Voe’s experience in entrepreneurship, youth development and community activism on our leadership team. De’Voe was born and raised in Cincinnati. He is a graduate of Woodward High School, and went on to study Political Science/ Liberal Arts at the University of Cincinnati. He is a serial entrepreneur with a zeal for diversity and being an agent for change. We value his drive to give back to our city and willingness to provide leadership to help create/maintain a welcoming and respectful climate for diversity. He founded First Generation Leaders of America (http://www.firstgenleaders.org/ ) to mentor students to be able to sustain their education through high school and further, and fulfil their big dreams. He also founded The Black Males Mancave (https://www.thebmm.org/) to create a safe space where young & older black men can come together to speak about various issues affecting the black community. He also has his own business coaching company (https://devoesherman.weebly.com/). Besides that, he is a warm, smart and caring person, who has been taking the time to show up at our events, bringing his daughter and brother to our Teen/Police Community Conversation, and our Open House among other things.

We had the advantage of getting some of his great ideas at our recent Board Retreat, and are looking forward to a lot more. We are stronger together.
